About Me

I’m currently a graduate student at the University of British Columbia, working on a M.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies first-year student at Stanford Law School, with an undergraduate background in philosophy and cognitive science and graduate work in neuroethics.

According to Facebook, my interests include philosophy, neuroscience, video games, craft beer, politics, and technology. As Twitter would have it, I am a “grad student and researcher in neuroethics at UBC, would-be philosopher, video game nerd, internet culture enthusiast, beer geek, [and] erstwhile tour guide.”

If this all strikes you as broad and vague to the point of uninformative … hmm. You’re kinda right. I promise I’m more interesting in person, and hopefully in writing.

Hmm….did I do something wrong? Anyway, again, this is so well-written and enjoyable to read, Roland. Keep up the good work.

As I learned when you left your first comment, first-time commenters go into a moderation queue, and don’t appear until I approve them. So, nothing wrong!

Thanks for the tribute to my father. As YOUR father, I can assure you that when it comes to the ones you left at home, when you took wings more than half a decade ago, your words ALSO remain very much with us -just as your writings have (safely sealed in memorabilia boxes). Good luck with the writing journey. Looking forward to reading the datelines and entries.
